Carrer d’Orient

Transforming an untouched 1960s apartment into a connected, light-filled, functional living space.

Location
Sant Cugat del Vallès, Catalonia

Year
2022

Context
Our architecture studio faced a unique challenge when renovating an 80 sqm ground floor apartment in Sant Cugat. The space was dark and segmented, and our task was to open it up and create a light-filled area that maximised functionality and style while preserving the building's original character. Our experience in working with period properties in London made us the perfect fit for this project.

Opportunity
This renovation project provided us with an excellent opportunity to showcase how thoughtful design can transform a space. By creating a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors and opening up the apartment, we were able to enhance the quality of life and add significant value to the property. We have a proven track record of delivering similar projects in the London area.

Solution
Our solution involved removing internal walls, redesigning the layout, and installing large windows to bring in natural light. We also created a patio space for outdoor relaxation and dining, seamlessly connecting the indoors and outdoors. The use of neutral colours and materials in the design scheme created a sense of calm and tranquility. We strategically added splashes of colour, pattern and textures to bring in the character and personality of our charming client. Our attention to detail and focus on functionality ensured that the renovation maximised the apartment's potential, resulting in an increase in the property's value. As an architectural practice with a strong presence in London, we're committed to creating spaces that meet our clients' needs while providing added value.
